Today, I realized that I hadn't shaved in so long that when the wind blew, the hairs on my legs moved in the breeze. FML

#6270063 - 11/12/2009 at 6:17am - health
I agree, your life sucks (3699)
You totally deserve it (25626)

Sooo... why don't you shave? I'm sorry, how is this an FML?

#1 - 11/12/2009 at 2:10pm - itsalwaysfunny

Yeah agreed, I don't get it. Even though its cold and I don't wear pants I still shave, granted not as often but usually before it starts to blow in the wind.... Maybe you should try that sometime OP. Or get the Gillette Fusion Power razor. Yeah it’s for men but it’s awesome! It vibrates and; therefore, you stay smoother for longer :) I usually last 3-4 days in the summer. Seriously, consider that.

#57 - 11/12/2009 at 4:12pm - Sun_Kissed18

that is just gross!

#78 - 11/12/2009 at 5:23pm - kjackson02

Gillette Fusion Power razor Pure WIN! enough said.

#96 - 11/12/2009 at 6:29pm - Mx_Rider

Oh, now I'm definitely getting that. To Hell with disposables. Now, I normally don't shave at all in the winter, especially since I rarely show off pits, crotch, and legs (whoo pants and t-shirts). If I'm going to wear something that will though I definitely shave... otherwise, not really, unless I get an urge for it. I don't grow quick so... The real question for miss OP is: Why is she letting her so-unshaven legs be exposed to where they blow in the damned wind? I'm sure nobody wants to see that. If she has a problem with this, too, why isn't she shaving? It's not rocket science, god damn.

#101 - 11/12/2009 at 7:11pm - DameGreyWulf

lol... what kind of clothing reveals the crotch?

#103 - 11/12/2009 at 7:30pm - possumisawesome

Crotchless panties? Chaps?

#108 - 11/12/2009 at 7:46pm - nightsrequiem

Underwear, bikini bottoms and some other swimwear, things along those lines. No it doesn't reveal the whole thing, but certainly would show enough if I didn't shave. Also lol wearing just chaps... kinky.

#109 - 11/12/2009 at 7:54pm - DameGreyWulf

@101 it says victoria, we are in the middle of a massive heatwave, currently here the temperature is 39 and their weather usually mimics ours.

#127 - 11/12/2009 at 10:28pm - organisedchaos

I stopped reading at "It vibrates".

#129 - 11/12/2009 at 10:58pm - ohmygoodnex

That scratchy beard of yours did not give you a clue?

#146 - 11/13/2009 at 1:28am - FarSide

It's only men who don't shave in Movember honey. :)

#149 - 11/13/2009 at 2:29am - KatieGoesRawrr

But the question still stands, chaos.

#157 - 11/13/2009 at 4:16am - DameGreyWulf

Wear pants.

#2 - 11/12/2009 at 2:13pm - flgirlwguitar

EWWWW!!! This isnt an FML. Get off your lazy ass and shave. Its called hygiene, maybe you should discover what that means. And again... FUCKING GROSS!!!!

#3 - 11/12/2009 at 2:13pm - midnight_rain

Christ, it has nothing to do with hygiene -- it's cultural norms. Men don't shave their legs, and it's not unhygienic. What are you, twelve?

#12 - 11/12/2009 at 2:26pm - kxs401

Beside the fact that the OP is, in fact, a woman, I would have assumed that to be so because men do not shave their legs and having long leg hair would not be considered gross. My question is, if the woman had not shaved her legs in such a long time that the hairs were long and, I'm guessing, visible, why was she wearing anything outside that didn't cover her legs. For her leg hair to be blown by the wind she would have to be wearing a skirt, a dress, or shorts, without leggings or tights.

#55 - 11/12/2009 at 4:10pm - Erniesduck123

She could have been in her backyard in shorts.

#66 - 11/12/2009 at 4:26pm - foolsangel

Then why do guys not usually shave? It's not hygeine at all.

#67 - 11/12/2009 at 4:32pm - Kuroftw

I just threaded it a long time ago once and it never grew back. I don't think it's supposed to do that. Oh well, lucky me.

#75 - 11/12/2009 at 4:59pm - Ohnothingreally

A lot of guys shave their legs where I live. Not as frequent as girls though, but usually when they're wearing shorts, example... a swimsuit.

#80 - 11/12/2009 at 5:30pm - rebel_yell_tiny

Lol. You live in San Fransisco, huh?

#111 - 11/12/2009 at 8:36pm - nazooer

:)

#150 - 11/13/2009 at 2:43am - KatieGoesRawrr

are you serious? it's NOT hygiene, it's a cultural expectation created by the patriachy. GROW UP and start being accountable for your own thoughts and actions

#152 - 11/13/2009 at 2:59am - selects

question: If a woman shampoos her leg hair, is it still considered by some to be bad hygiene?

#155 - 11/13/2009 at 3:43am - borabora1991

U fool. We Men are not expected to shave our legs. We're too manly for that. A woman is REQUIRED to shave her legs. Its mandatory. NO ONE wants hair on a woman's legs. Unshaved leg hair on women is unhygienic because it is repulsive. Men and women are not held to the same standards so don't put us on the same boat. (Although, its not really as important to shave/trim pubic for women, as it is for men, guys, less fro is a plus.)

#168 - 11/13/2009 at 6:16pm - YouFailForLife

Required? Really? By whom?

#170 - 11/14/2009 at 2:48am - Apocalyptus

youfailforlife, by saying that NO ONE likes hair on a woman, you are speaking for every single person that exists on this planet. apparently you have not seen the comments on here by men who DO like hair on a woman. and just because it's repulsive to you, doesnt make in unhygienic. would you rather date a woman who has never shaved her legs, but takes daily showers and shampoos and cleans her leg hair every day, or a woman with shaved legs who only shaves her legs and has never taken a bath or a shower a day in her life? who is more hygienic to you? hygiene is the preservation of health. by saying that a woman who does not shave her legs is unhygienic, you are saying that her growing leg hair is affecting her health.....? also....shaving legs is not required and is not mandatory. i hope youre joking, but if not.......well, your comments are still funny to me anyways.

#175 - 11/15/2009 at 12:30am - borabora1991

That's not an FML. That's just you being lazy and complaining about it. Shaving takes five minutes; go do it!

#4 - 11/12/2009 at 2:14pm - Nirah

Not an fml just shave.. Who's been moderating these things? Cause there doing a crappy job!

#5 - 11/12/2009 at 2:19pm - Starfire22

they're, not there

#46 - 11/12/2009 at 3:56pm - Ihateignorance

win

#138 - 11/12/2009 at 11:59pm - yohaun12

if you haven't shaved in so long, why were you not wearing pants?

#6 - 11/12/2009 at 2:21pm - dreamfactory

Actually, it's spring. It depends where in Victoria she's living in , but it would be less likely to be hot than if she were living in, say Darwin (At the very North).

#171 - 11/14/2009 at 2:50am - Apocalyptus

that's stupid. didn't you know that it's no shave November? duh.

#7 - 11/12/2009 at 2:22pm - pieofchrist

Fucking this. No Shave November and Decembeard should always be celebrated.

#30 - 11/12/2009 at 2:58pm - allmidnighteyes

No Shave November is for men only, unless you're a butch woman.

#49 - 11/12/2009 at 4:03pm - alex_vik

There's no indication that the OP isn't one.

#53 - 11/12/2009 at 4:09pm - allmidnighteyes

I want to use your vag hairs to do pull-ups on

#88 - 11/12/2009 at 6:05pm - donkey_hang_down

What is No Shave November??? It's Movember you idiots.

#97 - 11/12/2009 at 6:42pm - bored690

Ugh! Nasty! XD Hey, some people may like the all natural look, but not me. Chewbacca in the making o.o;

#8 - 11/12/2009 at 2:23pm - littlexlion

...Am I the only one who finds the wording of this FML soothing? Anyways, OP, this isn't an FML. Just shave your legs.

#9 - 11/12/2009 at 2:24pm - MermaidSongXOXO

no one made you not shave so it's really your own fault

#10 - 11/12/2009 at 2:25pm - catatonicsleep

I concur with #1. Just shave if you don't like it.

#11 - 11/12/2009 at 2:26pm - tayzer

Ok, to everyone saying it's gross, I would just like to say that guys don't shave their legs. I don't either. It's a perfectly natural thing to do, and it's only recently that it's become popular to get rid of hair off your body. (and yes, I do have a boyfriend and he loves me very much, just the way that I am) Aside from that, if you've ever felt a leg that was shaved, but not recently, the hairs are coarse and unpleasant, whereas if you never shave, the hairs are softer and finer and much better feeling.

#13 - 11/12/2009 at 2:28pm - peaceout314

actually body hair removal was popular in ancient egypt, except they used wax

#15 - 11/12/2009 at 2:32pm - catatonicsleep

You probably rock a '70s bush and armpit hair you can braid, too.

#20 - 11/12/2009 at 2:37pm - time_consumer

Actually people have been grooming since... well, civilization. And yes, shaving your legs is considered grooming just like it is for men and facial hair. Feel free to go unkempt and unshaven, certainly nobody's making you, but don't be surprised when people think you're disgusting for it. Nobody makes me brush my teeth, it's not medically necessary, but people would be disgusted all the same if I didn't do it.

#92 - 11/12/2009 at 6:13pm - Anti09

I shave armpits for sure, as I personally don't like the feel of it. I don't think we should care about what people do in terms of hair. Yes, some guys shave there legs, but it's not the norm. I don't shave, that's not the norm either. The only people who have ever called me disgusting are girls. Every guy that I've been with hasn't cared, and none of the guys I know care. Maybe I just don't know the jerky guys that all of you know.

#110 - 11/12/2009 at 7:56pm - peaceout314

"Nobody makes me brush my teeth, it's not medically necessary, but people would be disgusted all the same if I didn't do it." Analogy fail. That would work if the OP said they were not BATHING. Not shaving your legs =/= not brushing your teeth, dumbass. And since no one makes you, try not brushing them or anything for a year. The Darwin Awards needs more nominees. To the OP: who cares.

#130 - 11/12/2009 at 11:09pm - waterynuggets

brushing your teeth kind of is medically necessary if you don't want your teeth to turn yellow and rot out and have all kinds of gum diseases. but if someone doesn't shave their legs then it doesn't affect their health.

#154 - 11/13/2009 at 3:37am - borabora1991

Umm, you may not realize this #11, but most guys don't shave their legs. Their pretty used to it, and any decent guy isn't going to care.

#14 - 11/12/2009 at 2:30pm - peaceout314

but women never chose the decent men. Only the jerks.

#29 - 11/12/2009 at 2:58pm - polico_wolf

I don't really see an fml but it made me laugh. That's grand.

#16 - 11/12/2009 at 2:32pm - ericasthename

Buy a razor and shave then, ya damn hippie.

#17 - 11/12/2009 at 2:33pm - time_consumer

As long as it's just the hairs on your legs moving with the breeze you're in a grey area. Start worrying if it's the hairs under your armpits or private zone.

#18 - 11/12/2009 at 2:34pm - Rayn4u

To anyone who asks why OP didn't wear jeans, or telling her that she should: It's extremely hot in Australia now. It's summer over there.

#19 - 11/12/2009 at 2:36pm - MermaidSongXOXO

i don't even want to rate this as ydi, your life is just not fucked.

#21 - 11/12/2009 at 2:42pm - EmoKidsFail

Way to be gross

#22 - 11/12/2009 at 2:44pm - dysfunctionalfam

You are MY kind of woman.

#23 - 11/12/2009 at 2:47pm - Calaura9

so fucking what? shave your legs. problem solved.

#24 - 11/12/2009 at 2:50pm - kitties

Men don't have to shave every day, so why should women feel pressured to? Sucks if you ask me. We have to preen ourselves for "them" whilst they can walk around looking pretty rugged and get away with it because it's not the social norm for men to look shiny and clean all the time. Oh but this isn't a FYL. Just go shave them if you're that bothered.

#25 - 11/12/2009 at 2:50pm - Incubuss

"...and get away with it" nobody will sue you for not looking your best you dont "have" to do anything to yourself

#26 - 11/12/2009 at 2:54pm - polico_wolf

That's my point.

#28 - 11/12/2009 at 2:56pm - Incubuss

it sounded lik you were complaining that men dont shave their legs and you do =P

#31 - 11/12/2009 at 3:00pm - polico_wolf

Guyz, it's not gross. Society just deems it gross. Totally nothing wrong with having hair on your legs. It's natural. I shave mine but it's such a hassle. And I don't shave in the fucking winter. So there, an excuse. Just let her do whatever she wants with them.

#27 - 11/12/2009 at 2:55pm - around_the_world

that is damn nasty. you just ruined my day with that image

#32 - 11/12/2009 at 3:02pm - Godless50

As long as you shave your "swimsuit area" then it is fine. At least your boyfriend has "dental floss" to use at all times.

#33 - 11/12/2009 at 3:04pm - donkey_hang_down

I guess it's the norm in Europe for women to let the leg hair grow. It's certainly the norm in USA / Canada for women to shave their legs. We're learning something new about our Aussie women, aren't we? (FWIW, I'm an American guy, & I prefer my woman shaved all over.)

#34 - 11/12/2009 at 3:13pm - SmittyJA24

and you base that on WHAT? -.- none of the girls i know have hairy legs. none. and i highly doubt that it's considered "better" to NOT shave your legs in the rest of europe -_-

#40 - 11/12/2009 at 3:25pm - hvitfeldtska

"all over"? And you have been a paedophilic weirdo for how long exactly?

#56 - 11/12/2009 at 4:11pm - repyourcliche

*facepalm* Liking women who shave is not pedophillic.

#81 - 11/12/2009 at 5:40pm - Tubasaurus

But it is misogynistic and generally gross.

#89 - 11/12/2009 at 6:05pm - kxs401

How is it misogynistic to prefer girls that shave? It's one thing if you're being rude or demanding someone to shave, but what's wrong with having a certain preference?

#95 - 11/12/2009 at 6:25pm - Tequilamockngbrd

It's the norm in Australia to shave. However, there's always people in every country who do what they want and not just what everyone else does.

#98 - 11/12/2009 at 6:46pm - bored690

The type of guy who prefers shaved girls are the guys whose main (only?) experience with women is through porn. They're disgusted by actual females because they have no idea what they're really like.

#135 - 11/12/2009 at 11:24pm - kxs401

And you would know?

#139 - 11/13/2009 at 12:00am - Whydoyouask

You're fucking stupid. People like what they like because they like what they like, not because of porn. That's a stupid fucking excuse. You're assuming that every guy is obsessed with porn, which they aren't. It's a preference. Don't get all offended because of OUR preference.

#158 - 11/13/2009 at 6:55am - Twitch04

Meg shaving. Stewie: ew ew ewww oh god ew

#35 - 11/12/2009 at 3:14pm - KiddNYC10

total win.

#153 - 11/13/2009 at 3:32am - borabora1991

Im sorry how is this an FMl? wax it instead it'll be gone longer...

#36 - 11/12/2009 at 3:16pm - sesquipedalian44

um, hears a solution- SHAVE and where pants cuz u dont wanna be showing off ur hairy legs to the world

#37 - 11/12/2009 at 3:16pm - jessxoxo28

I'm used to people messing up the "your"s and "there"s, but "hear" and "here" and "where" and "wear"? You have got to be kidding.

#77 - 11/12/2009 at 5:09pm - youKnowBetter

Nobody forces women to shave their legs, they do it on their own. Just don't be surprised when 95% of the guys are fucking disgusted by your hairy legs. I know I am.

#38 - 11/12/2009 at 3:19pm - dimension516

eew, shave.

#39 - 11/12/2009 at 3:24pm - krista17

#27, you're right. only in America do women shave their legs. but honestly, you're part of soceity too and if soceity has it's cultural norms, guess who follows them cause their a part of soceity? you can complain as much as you want, but in the end, you're still going to shave your legs

#41 - 11/12/2009 at 3:31pm - hXcsoccerplaya

i really, really hope you're being sarcastic. otherwise, i think i might kick your ass, since you spelled society wrong too. ^_^

#162 - 11/13/2009 at 9:43am - judemeister

Sooo ... shave? How is this an FML?

#42 - 11/12/2009 at 3:44pm - itsmelen

mmm mmm good… possibilities. no really shave.

#43 - 11/12/2009 at 3:46pm - tmptmptmp

this isn't an fml. that's just bad hygiene

#44 - 11/12/2009 at 3:51pm - IceCream53423

No, it's social norms, doofus. See comment #12. He/she summed it up perfectly.

#47 - 11/12/2009 at 3:57pm - Intoxicunt

Aw, thanks. Is it just me or are half these commenters pre-teen boys who have never touched a female they're not related to?

#90 - 11/12/2009 at 6:07pm - kxs401

Ahaha. You're right, my friend. :P Just because all the girls in porn are shaved doesn't mean it's "ewwww" not to. It's just preference. Like long hair vs. short hair, or skin color.

#125 - 11/12/2009 at 10:22pm - Intoxicunt

I mean, I normally shave my legs and all, even though it's a pain, but the last time I had sex I was rockin' some bitchin leg hair (it was unexpected sex)... did he complain? No. Did he notice? Nope.

#137 - 11/12/2009 at 11:30pm - kxs401

Goddamn hippie

#45 - 11/12/2009 at 3:55pm - xCharlotte

Why are people so shallow as to say 'ew' to the fact she hasn't shaved her legs. it's natural get over it people. and i think men should actually appreciate the fact that women go through the hassle to shave they're legs and other areas. Where as men don't do any of that. You get off quite easily i would say. But seriously stop hating on her because she hasn't shaved them. Fucking pathetic.

#48 - 11/12/2009 at 3:57pm - thgiliwt

People are saying it's gross because it's gross in their opinion, duh. I think it's gross too. Yeah, it's natural, but my preference is for women to shave everything but their eyebrows and head. That's just me. Don't like it? Well guess what, my opinion's just as good as yours. We can hate on her just as much as you can hate on us for doing so. So there. Yes, this is NOT an FML. Just go shave or wax if you don't like it. lrn2FML

#52 - 11/12/2009 at 4:06pm - Twitch04

fucking discusting.

#50 - 11/12/2009 at 4:05pm - collar

So's your attitude.

#86 - 11/12/2009 at 6:01pm - iltby

So is your spelling.

#99 - 11/12/2009 at 6:47pm - bored690

I actually changed my primary doctor when she said something along the lines of, "Hairy legs are very natural." Screw that. I mean, I think it's bad enough that I don't shave during the week. I've actually been looking into laser hair removal for my legs and bikini area....maybe a touch up for under my arms. Id much rather get rid of it forever than have it grow out... A lot of guys shave their faces for work and whatnot, why can't girls keep up with their legs?

#51 - 11/12/2009 at 4:05pm - idkweird

You... changed your doctor because she made the perfectly reasonable (and true) statement that leg hair is natural? That's not the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but it's top ten, at least.

#91 - 11/12/2009 at 6:09pm - kxs401

I'd be more worried if the doctor said that hairy legs were unnatural :S.

#133 - 11/12/2009 at 11:18pm - Kat_MS

Shoulda had a v8.

#54 - 11/12/2009 at 4:10pm - Drakon

Then uhh, shave?

#58 - 11/12/2009 at 4:12pm - TheECP

it's ok, my leg hair does that too, of course i am a guy lol

#59 - 11/12/2009 at 4:15pm - Scotticus117

Not an fml Just shave

#60 - 11/12/2009 at 4:16pm - bosshaug

I say they should make a new law making it socially unacceptable for men to not shave too. If women have do do it so should men. Btw YDI just cos you say it like it's a terrible tragedy.

#61 - 11/12/2009 at 4:17pm - epanssereves

Women don't HAVE to do it...

#62 - 11/12/2009 at 4:19pm - Twitch04

That's right, they don't have to. It's just expected of them, and they get called disgusting if they don't. Personally, I shave pretty much everywhere except my head, but that's actually due to a somewhat neurotic obsession with smooth skin. Otherwise, I would consider shaving WAY too much of a hassle to do regularly. :/ OP, if it bothers you, shave, wax, whatever. If it doesn't bother you, then don't complain about it. Either way, this doesn't belong here.

#72 - 11/12/2009 at 4:49pm - Lawlipop

...it's a law for women to shave? Since when? Since you couldn't think of a better way to vent your frustration for societal norms that no one person can be responsible for? Men are expected to shave, or at least stay well groomed. I know I wouldn't go into any job interview with the way my face looks right now.

#84 - 11/12/2009 at 5:57pm - Tubasaurus

Fucking disgusting. Have some pride in yourself!

#63 - 11/12/2009 at 4:20pm - prizefight

HAHAHA, im like that right now

#64 - 11/12/2009 at 4:21pm - parsnip

Really? Wow! How difficult your life must be! You're so brave & courageous to share your strife with the world! No, but seriously, this is the least qualified "FML" I've ever read. Grab a razor, shave, & VOILA! Problem solved. You must have a very charmed life if your biggest problem is a little leg hair.

#65 - 11/12/2009 at 4:24pm - BlueberryPies

So? Just shave. Problem solved.

#68 - 11/12/2009 at 4:35pm - darkmis1

ahaha! ew. is it sad that I can totally relate??-you get so busy and it takes so much effort-lol once it gets cold out and your wearing long pants 24/7 your like naww..lol until the pant leg rises a bit and you can see the hair above your ankles!! lmao. well i have a story that happened to me in the summer... (btw i shower before i go to bed rather than in the morning) SO i was planning on wearing shorts that day, when i realised that i had only shaved ONE leg-it was the hottest day of the week, and i wore pants.

#69 - 11/12/2009 at 4:40pm - wellimanidiot

the moderators on FML are killing me. this isn't an FML at all. by far the worst post ever.

#70 - 11/12/2009 at 4:41pm - unseen

Don't listen to all these people who want you to do the "normal" thing and shave. There are some guys who are into hairy women. (Not me, sorry.) Go find a web site for hairy women and the men that love them. In college, I had a roommate who wore in his hair in a mohawk and some girl said, "That's so ugly! Why do you wear your hair that way?" He said, "I reckon that most girls hate it, but about 5% REALLY like it -- and that's the 5% I want to meet anyway."

#71 - 11/12/2009 at 4:43pm - perdix

French braid that shit and create a new trend!

Eh, I'm like that too right now. Who cares. And like someone above me said - it feels worse when it's coarse and stubly than when it's longer and softer. I grow it out. Wax when I get the time. Grow it back out. No big deal. Hopefully one of these days the waxing process will work so well that it never grows back. Fingers crossed! Shaving blows. Just doesn't work for me. I get super bad razor burn no matter what I do. Same thing with Nair and similar products. I must have sensitive skin or something. Whatever the case, waxing is the only thing that works for me so in between waxes I have long hair. It's natural.

#74 - 11/12/2009 at 4:56pm - GotWhateverItIs

It's no shave November! DUH!!

#76 - 11/12/2009 at 5:01pm - prplwrpl

That probably doesn't work in the Southern Hemisphere. And I'm talking about the Southern Hemisphere of the planet Earth and not the female body. But it's a good way to get a top-of-the-line razor for Christmas.

#83 - 11/12/2009 at 5:57pm - bballboy91

#87 - 11/12/2009 at 6:04pm - goalie_13_12

Seriously.... dude cornbread your leg hair and call it a day.... so not FML

#93 - 11/12/2009 at 6:22pm - saucey12

You mean cornrow? If not, what's cornbreading hair? Google turns up nothing. And OP--happened to me too, sometimes you don't notice until you wear a skirt without tights...

oh my gosh, fuck your life so much. i'd be crying if i were you.

#106 - 11/12/2009 at 7:39pm - andreaco

This could be a more amusing FML if we changed some words around: "Today, I realized that I hadn't shaved in so long that when the wind blew, the hairs on my crotch moved in the breeze. FML"

#107 - 11/12/2009 at 7:43pm - baumunk

Fuck FML!! Stupid thing messed up my reply!~!@!#@!

#112 - 11/12/2009 at 8:37pm - nazooer

you is nasty... this has nothin to do with fml.... what you needz to do is go to walmart and get ah razor!!

#113 - 11/12/2009 at 8:43pm - kickrox

I absolutely have to say something here, again, but only because so many ?women? have decided to comment about men. I shave my face everyday, and keep my nethers trimmed pretty damn nice. I go through hassle too! So yes dammit, I CAN expect my women to shave. If you don't like that, too bad, most women shave. I'll stick with them hairy ladys.

#114 - 11/12/2009 at 8:49pm - ninjobliveus13

Well, see, that's face and nethers. Women are expected: face, nethers, armpits, legs, and if they don't, and if they're hairier than "normal" anywhere else (such as arms, too-thick-eyebrows, even bellies and backs I've heard) and don't "take care of it," they are also deemed disgusting and butchy. Oh, and we must be bald in those aforementioned areas, whereas you only trim your hedges. Your effort is quite a deal less than what is the expected effort of women in this society.

#120 - 11/12/2009 at 9:46pm - DameGreyWulf

I agree. Men talk about them also having to do a little maintenance and women being quite high-maintenance, but women go through so much more, and men would not be able to stand if women suddenly stopped wasting all their money on personal beauty.

#167 - 11/13/2009 at 5:31pm - bgpink

"This bothered me so much that I didn't do anything about it, and instead posted to the internet."

#115 - 11/12/2009 at 8:55pm - lainzilla

YDI for being disgusting.

#117 - 11/12/2009 at 9:22pm - MisterZzyzx

I don't get how this is a FML. I really didn't want to know about your hairy legs. I'm glad you're growing a forest and all, but you should shave once in awhile.

#118 - 11/12/2009 at 9:34pm - cheapsheep

Only a dumbass would actually have this happen, then post it. You deserved it.

#119 - 11/12/2009 at 9:43pm - Detrox

You are fucking disgusting

#121 - 11/12/2009 at 9:47pm - mikeymuscles112

as a woman in a committed long term relationship, shaving really isn't a big deal after awhile. husbands/bfs/fiances don't even notice. besides hair insulates the body, shaving your legs during winter is stupid. you ass is gonna be freezing. during the summer, of course I shave almost on a regular basis b/c I'm out in public a lot usually wearing shorts or a skirt. the fact that she's grossed out about it means she should probably shave. it's not really a FML.

#122 - 11/12/2009 at 9:49pm - KarelessKitten

Rofl, I think you have a warped view of Australia...it does actually get very cold here also :P

#163 - 11/13/2009 at 11:30am - iltby

If it bugs you-shave. If it doesn't- move on. Does anyone else remember when these were moderated?

#123 - 11/12/2009 at 10:10pm - coming2atvnearu

Then shave instead of whine about it.

#124 - 11/12/2009 at 10:13pm - PhillyFox

You're a truly disgusting person. Shave your damn legs.

#126 - 11/12/2009 at 10:25pm - fuzz97

#128 - 11/12/2009 at 10:29pm - wellimanidiot

#131 - 11/12/2009 at 11:11pm - Gibby

#132 - 11/12/2009 at 11:13pm - campostatus

that is fucking nasty as hell. and how is this even an FML? its your own fault. shave your legs and then the hairs wont blow in the breeze, nastyass.

#134 - 11/12/2009 at 11:19pm - breakingdawnxx3

Jesus Christ... is this really what society has come to? If you haven't shaved your legs, it shouldn't matter. Why is there such a social stigma? You shouldn't need to feel embarrassed at all. If you don't want to shave your legs (or any other section of your body), then don't. Anyone who tells you it's gross or unsanitary is just an ignorant jackass. So, I will agree, fuck your life, because you live in a society that can't handle the natural state of the human body. Whether or not a woman shaves should be completely up to her, and not the result of society falsely telling her that it makes her gross and unclean. P.S. If you're wondering, yes I do happen to find hair on a woman to be sexy. That's my preference.

#136 - 11/12/2009 at 11:26pm - MvK

well said, MvK. Some women just don't have the time to shave their legs every day.

#143 - 11/13/2009 at 12:21am - borabora1991

Personal aesthetics can differ. If her own aesthetics say that shaved legs are pretty and she realizes she hasn't been taking care of herself, that's a pretty big FML, because it's basically saying "today I realized I'm not as pretty as I want to be," or even "It's been so long since I've had someone that I felt like looking pretty for." I know I feel pretty gross when I realize I haven't been shaving for a while, because for me it's just a basic maintenance thing, not something I do "for" anyone but myself. So get off your high hairy horse and realize that your aesthetics are in the minority. OP... shaving also isn't that hard. Just go do it if you feel that bad about it.

#161 - 11/13/2009 at 8:50am - hatcher

@161 - My personal aesthetics are not really the issue at hand. I said "Whether or not a woman shaves should be completely up to her" for a reason. It shouldn't be a matter of what I like, or what society says. It should be a personal decision. At this point, it probably comes down to how we're reading the OP's post. It's really a big FML through either interpretation. Either as you said, she hasn't had anyone that she felt like looking pretty for, or as I read it, she is running into a social stigma regarding a personal choice. I know full well that my preference is in the minority. I only directly mentioned it as a means to support the OP. If, as I read it, she was dealing with the stigma, I wanted her to know that there are plenty of men out there who either don't care or even do prefer hair on a woman. It all comes back to this not needing to be an issue. Shouldn't we be judging people on who they actually are, rather than whether or not they prefer not to shave? If things are as you read them, then I grant that my post is off the mark.

#165 - 11/13/2009 at 1:51pm - MvK

Thats not an FML you dumbshit! Thats just being lazy! Have some damn respect for yourself!

#140 - 11/13/2009 at 12:08am - grrrarrrg2

Oh, so suddenly you can only have respect for yourself if you're as hairless as a newborn?

#166 - 11/13/2009 at 5:28pm - bgpink

ew hurl  i used like some girls on here but not anymore. WHY cant you just buy a BRAUN ? this is why i have 6 girls in my life. they only have to shave when i come over. and yeah i like girls with no hair all over except on the head and brows.

#141 - 11/13/2009 at 12:13am - ladiesman14

Well, maybe she's participating in No-shave November. And maybe she also participated in Odious October... And Shaggy September... Heck, she may not have even shaved since Fuzzy February.

#142 - 11/13/2009 at 12:18am - borabora1991

#142. Your comment is made of win x10,000 squared. Plus 5.

#144 - 11/13/2009 at 12:29am - PonPonPattaPon

NOT an FML!

#145 - 11/13/2009 at 12:42am - tguillaud550

You should get leg cornrows!

#147 - 11/13/2009 at 1:41am - Ninjaface

#156 - 11/13/2009 at 4:07am - portable_chicken

Spring! It's Spring right now, actually - we don't have summer 'til December.

#172 - 11/14/2009 at 3:04am - Apocalyptus

i guess most people here are from america... the OP is from australia and it is not winter here! It's almost Summer and it's already really hot it's about 30-40° where i live (that's 86- 104 for u americans btw) so please stop thinking everyone lives on the same part of earth as you. :)

#151 - 11/13/2009 at 2:48am - KatieGoesRawrr

This isn't an FML, this is you looking for attention. So go shave your legs. I don't see anybody stopping you. It's only FML if people have been really rude to you about it, but seeing as your FML concentrated solely on the fact the hairs are long, I'm not gonna say FYL.

#159 - 11/13/2009 at 7:55am - LilaBear

uhh #156 its spring in Australia and it just shows how depressed you are if you're making other people miserable by calling them names

#160 - 11/13/2009 at 8:32am - xX_FML_much_Xx

This FML blows. Now go shave those legs.

#164 - 11/13/2009 at 11:45am - happycloud

........ ewe. i mean .. seriously .. ewe. its ok to get lazy and go without shaving for a couple days, especially if you dont have a bf so no one would see them anyways .. but isnt that so uncomfortable? ..... ewe

#169 - 11/14/2009 at 12:41am - irelandeyes89

Ewe? Why are you talking about female sheep? That's hardly relevant.

#173 - 11/14/2009 at 3:06am - Apocalyptus

It's spelled "ew", you idiot. "Ewe" is a female sheep. Now fuck off.

#174 - 11/14/2009 at 9:57pm - ignatiusdown

Its pretty crazy but today, I just shaved my legs after about... well I dont remember the last I shaved, so im right there with you =]
